Adelaide GreenZone Drive delivers “green” cars for the public to test
From October 20 to 23 the Adelaide GreenZone Drive will provide the chance for the South Australian public to test drive some of the lowest emission production cars from the world’s leading manufacturers.
The event gives members of the public an opportunity to test drive one of 14 new low or zero emission vehicles to find out just how easy it is to choose an environmentally-friendly vehicle. The test drive will be a 3.5km course through the streets of Adelaide.

Green cars - in a variety of colours - will be on offer for city test drives by the public next month.
The eco-friendly test drive program, running in late October as part of the World Solar Challenge, will give test-drivers the chance to experience the near-silent electric cars, low-emissions hybrids and turbodiesels.
Challenge, will give test-drivers the chance to experience the near-silent electric cars, low-emissions hybrids and turbodiesels.
The 3.5km route will take participants from the Victoria Square headquarters around a short city loop, co-driven by a car company representative who will spruik the green virtues of the vehicle during the short test drive.
SA Motorsport Board chief executive Mark Warren said the drive event was a good way to link the World Solar Challenge cars and production vehicles.
"From our perspective it's a great way to tie together the innovative technologies being tested by competitors in the WSC and a lot of those technologies have made their way into the production cars. It's an opportunity to demonstrate that connection point between what is currently being tested and what we may see in five years' time in production vehicles," Mr Warren said.
RAA technical manager Mark Borlace said car buyers were presented with a growing range of green vehicle options available across many market segments.
"In the next 10 years, it's estimated that up to 10 per cent of Australian vehicles will be either electric or hybrid, fuelling traditional manufacturers to introduce even greater efficiency in petrol-driven vehicle technologies," he said.
Adelaide GreenZone Drive runs from October 20, when the first of the World Solar Challenge racers are expected in Adelaide, until October 23. It will have at least seven vehicles available for a test drive from Audi, BMW, Honda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Renault and Toyota.
Anyone wanting a test-drive will need a valid Australian driver's licence and has to register at GreenZonedrive.com.au
