Day 3 in the ultimate endurance event that is the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge saw sparks of rivalry fly as the two Dutch teams travelled nose to tail for nearly 700 kilometres along the Stuart Highway. Team Twente in ‘Red One’ have never won the Challenge. The Nuon Solar Team are no strangers to the winners’ circle having won a total of five times including last event in 2013. Twente are clearly hoping it’s their turn to shine. Both teams have to contend with the ever-present threat from Team Michigan in their speed machine ‘Aurum’ who are still just minutes behind.
