In its 30th year, the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge (BWSC) is about to be celebrated on a global stage of a different kind - IMAX® giant screens – for its shining role in the new film ‘Dream Big: Engineering Our World’.
The film, which will premiere at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, Washington DC on Wednesday 15 February, celebrates human ingenuity behind incredible engineering feats, big and small. From the world’s tallest building, to earthquake proof engineering, bridges to prosperity and underwater robots, the world’s largest solar-powered car race across outback Australia, is in elite company. With spellbinding giant-screen visuals, Dream Big tells inspiring stories of creating better lives for people and a more sustainable future for us all.
New look event logo for 2017
The Bridgestone World Solar Challenge (BWSC) has a new look. In recognition of Naming Rights Sponsor, Bridgestone Corporation and their continued support, event organisers have refreshed the event logo giving further prominence to the word Bridgestone and its distinctive ‘B’.
Bridgestone first partnered with the Challenge in 2013, aiming to advance environmental technologies for cleaner cars and a more sustainable future for generations to come. The BWSC attracts some of the world’s brightest innovators, engineers and start-up entrep
reneurs, united by a common goal – developing a sustainable, solar electric car no longer reliant on fossil fuels.
Celebrating its 30th anniversary, the BWSC will be held in Australia from October 8 to 15, 2017.
