About Nuon Solar Team

The World Solar Challenge is a perfect way to promote sustainability by racing 3000km purely on solar power. Next to this, the World Solar Challenge is a great challenge for the team to show how efficient Nuna7 is. Besides this, we see the World Solar Challenge as a very nice adventure; we are really looking forward to it! Competing in this challenge is a nice showcase for all innovative technologies being developed and applied in our solar car. During this project we also got to learn how to apply all our knowledge gained at university, which is of great value for young engineers.

Design Philosophy

Our aim is to build a winning solar car, Nuna7. To do this we need to design the most energy efficient car. We focus on reducing aerodynamic losses while maintaining low weight. Together with outstanding solar panel performance and great strategy we think we are able to build the solar car which will arrive in Adelaide first.
