The Bridgestone World Solar Challenge has become the world’s foremost innovation challenge with teams from around the world vying to become the first to deliver sustainable solar powered electric vehicles.

This year marks the event’s 14th crossing of Australia and the 30th Anniversary of the challenge.

The 2017 Bridgestone World Solar Challenge will officially start in Darwin on Sunday 8 October and finish on 15 October 2017 in Adelaide. In the week preceding the event, teams must pass a series of practical safety and compliance tests to qualify for the start line. The final qualifying activities are the time trials at Hidden Valley on Saturday 7 October.

If you wish to apply for media accreditation for the event please note the following:

There are two tiers of accreditation, please ensure you apply for the tier that best suits your needs.

Under no circumstances will media accreditation be given to advertising agencies or representatives, public relations companies, representatives of sponsors, or suppliers. 

TIER 1 - PROFESSIONAL WORKING MEDIA

All national and international PROFESSIONAL WORKING MEDIA including journalists, photographers, bloggers, social media influencers, including professional media who are travelling with a participating team are eligible for TIER 1 Media Accreditation. 

TIER 1 Media will be assigned a MEDIA EVENT PASS at the media office in Darwin giving open access to the event (within the promoter’s discretion).

TIER 2 – TEAM MEDIA

Individuals who are designated a media role within a participating team are to apply for Tier 2 TEAM MEDIA accreditation.

TIER 2 Media will be assigned a TEAM MEDIA PASS at the media office in Darwin giving restricted access to cover the relevant team’s involvement in the event.

ALL PROFESSIONAL WORKING MEDIA and TEAM MEDIA must ‚Äčregister on-line and be pre-approved for accreditation by completing the application form below before THURSDAY 28 SEPTEMBER.

NO ON-SITE MEDIA APPLICATIONS WILL BE TAKEN AT THE COMMENCEMENT OF THE EVENT

Media will be notified of their successful accreditation as applications are processed. ‚ÄčAll media passes are issued at the media office in Darwin. Please bring photo ID and credentials with you.
