How many times has your team participated in the event?

This will be PrISUm's first appearance at the World Solar Challenge.

What is the design philosophy behind your solar car?

PrISUm wanted to redefine what it means to be a solar car. We wanted the public to question the technologies of today and ask, “When can I be driving a solar car?” Therefore, PrISUm constructed the world’s first solar utility vehicle.

What is unique about your solar car?

PrISUm’s 14th generation car, Penumbra, was crafted inside and out with the consumer in mind. PrISUm combined the similar look of a standard automobile with efficient, aerodynamic design. Our solar electric vehicle incorporates a rear window, increased passenger space, ease of access, and complete with significant storage in the rear hatch. PrISUm set out to build a car that one could use in their everyday life. Our vehicle displays state of the art technology with a touch screen infotainment system, integrated JBL audio, electronic paper displays, and wireless charging for your cellphone.

Why does your team value participating in the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge?

PrISUm is excited to race with universities from across the globe who are pushing the boundaries of renewable, efficient, and lightweight automobiles. Change is a team effort. We are excited to showcase the future of transportation alongside all the attendees of the 2017 Bridgestone World Solar Challenge.

What is the one thing your team is looking forward to when you visit Australia?

Meeting and collaborating with individuals from across the globe who are all passionate about solar cars and renewable transportation.
