How many times has your team participated in the event?

This is our 3rd times to participate since 2013. In 2013, we had participated in Adventure class with Sophie IV. Two years later, we go further and joined the Cruiser class competition with Sophie V in 2015. Sophie VI will join the Cruiser class competition again in this year.

What is the design philosophy behind your solar car?

Drive a sustainable future!
SOPHIE is designed to demonstrate the viability of a renewable energy through using the green transportation, promoting the environmental sustainability among the public.

What is unique about your solar car?

Weight reduction is the critical mission in our solar car design. Thanks to the magnesium alloy made components, the target becomes feasible.
Central occupant cell concept is introduced in this year. Not just providing a protection to the occupant, but also made the design more simple and clear. As all the critical systems are located within the cell or mounted on the cell, the impact zone at the front and rear sections are increased. It results in enhancing the crash-worthiness.
Double tailing arm suspension system are used on the new solar car. It provides better stability and adjust-ability.

Why does your team value participating in the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge?

BWSC not only gives us the chance facing the international event, but also help students to grow up with the wonderful experience in Australia, and improve their interpersonal skills. To have the awesome sharing session, our members already built-up the friendship between other solar car team members around the world and its definitely an important step for them to explore more , that worth's for everything, and benefits for their whole life.

What is the one thing your team is looking forward to when you visit Australia?

This race is a good practice for the team to enforce their wits and adapt to the unpredictable environment in Australia. We gained a lot from the precious experience and we hope we can achieve higher awards in this year.
