How many times has your team participated in the event?

The team participated in the 2015 BWSC Cruiser Class, coming sixth overall.

What is the design philosophy behind your solar car?

The car is designed and built to educate school students in sustainable transport solutions and to form a centerpiece for a range of activities involving students from about 20 schools highlighting the need to save our planet.

What is unique about your solar car?

The car has been built on a limited budget and hence has required some novel techniques in moulding and also a proprietary battery system had to be developed. The car has necessitated many school students acquiring skills in both design and manufacture.

Why does your team value participating in the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge?

This event is a focal point, which means that a car has to be built to meet the stringent requirements and to a definite date. This really brings industry right into the classroom. It is also highly important to promote, especially to school students, the values encompassed by the BWSC. Most notably, the need to make a positive difference and to have a can do attitude to life.

What is the one thing your team is looking forward to when you visit Australia?

The team is looking forward to meeting like minded students from around the world, to participate in this highly prestigious and demanding event and to experience the outback. The Australian experience really does change lives and attitudes.
