How many times has your team participated in the event?

This will be our second time participating after competing previously in 2017.

What is the design philosophy behind your solar car?

Our solar car has been designed with a focus on aerodynamics to improve the efficiency of the car. As well as aerodynamics, we have also focused on reducing the weight of the car to also improve the car’s efficiency.

What is unique about your solar car?

The cosmetic decals of our car were designed through a colouring-in competition distributed to primary and pre-schoolers across Canberra, with the winning entry becoming the image that goes on the car.

Why does your team value participating in the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge?

Our team values participation in the BWSC as it gives us all a chance to apply the skills and knowledge we have developed at university, and gives us all a chance to work in a cross-disciplinary team to achieve a common goal.

What is the one thing your team is looking forward to when you visit Australia?

As an Australian team, we are looking forward to the opportunity to explore the outback in the NT and SA. The team is also looking forward to meeting other teams from around the world, and to observe and learn from the designs and innovations of other teams.
