How many times has your team participated in the event?

Solar Team Twente has participated eight times in the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge. RED X will mark our ninth participation.

What is the design philosophy behind your solar car?

The design philosophy of Solar Team Twente is focused on efficiency and optimization. We are eager to implement the newest technologies to make our solar car the most efficient solar car at the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge. We invest in making our own systems and parts as much as possible. This gives us control. In these parts we simplify, less is more!

What is unique about your solar car?

RED X is the tenth solar car of Solar Team Twente. It will be the first time we will participate in the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge with a monohull, instead of a catamaran. We have mostly innovated with our solar panel, our battery, and with our aerodynamics.
The thing that makes RED X unique is the team behind it. We are a strong team with the right mindset to innovate, collaborate and inspire!

Why does your team value participating in the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge?

The Bridgestone World Solar Challenge is an endurance challenge that gives us the perfect conditions to test the capacity of our car and our team. It is a reward for all the hard work we have done so far and it is a motivation to keep on innovating. The challenge is known all around the world and we are delighted to show the world how we can change our current mobility system.

What is the one thing your team is looking forward to when you visit Australia?

The challenge itself is the highest on the list! We are looking forward to the team experience, the driving hours, and the camping. We are excited to see how our solar car performs in an environment with more sun than in the Netherlands!
