Sunswift Media Track Day

Sunswift Media Track Day

The UNSW Solar Racing Team, SUNSWIFT, is holding a “Track Day” to allow media to get a first look and thrilling wheel time in their break through solar car  "eVe” before it races in the prestigious Bridgestone World Solar Challenge 2013.   Media will be able to interact with the car and sit in during some of the testing, with photography and filming opportunities also available on the day.

The Sunswift Track Day will be held on Thursday 12 September at 11am at Eastern Creek Raceway at Zones 5 and 6.  The team of University students will also be holding a demo session prior to testing, providing a behind-the-scenes look at their newest solar car.

Sunswift and eVe

The UNSW Solar Racing Team, Sunswift, of volunteer University students passionately design, build and race extraordinary solar cars in the endless pursuit of a cleaner future.  The revolutionary creations are ultimately tested at the biannual Bridgestone World Solar Challenge, a competition pitting the world’s most efficient electric cars built by teams worldwide against each other.

The challenge is a gruelling 3,000km, spanning across the harsh Australian desert.  Sunswift have maintained an impressive track record, with their previous car currently holding the Guinness World Record for the fasted solar-powered vehicle.  This year, Sunswift has raised the bar even further with eVe, a solar sports car built on the premise of practicality – a vehicle we could all one day be holding the keys to.
