NUON LEADS TOKAI AS TEAMS HEAD TO ADELAIDE

A familiar scenario is being played out between two champion teams in the 2013 Bridgestone World Solar Challenge. After nearly 2,800 kilometres just 20 minutes separates the two leading cars. It is almost a repeat performance of 2011 except on this occasion the order is reversed, with the Netherlands Nuon Solar team leading Team Tokai from Japan.

Thursday 10 October | 9.30 am approx | First cars to cross ‘Finish of timing’ | ‘Finish of Timing’ is a point established approx. 31 km north of Adelaide. Effectively this will determine the winner in the elite Challenger Class (pending confirmation of compliance); however the solar car must still proceed under its own power to the official finish line in Hindmarsh Square, the centre of Adelaide. 2013 Bridgestone World Solar Challenge Official City of Adelaide Finish Line activities at Hindmarsh Square Thursday - Sunday include:
- 38 solar car teams from 22 countries arriving from Thursday 10
- free test drive - some of the latest lowest emission production cars
- Feast on Fork on the Road, from 12noon Sunday
- Experience the world’s first solar car street parade, from 2pm Sunday.
